  • Arsenal and West Ham have reached an agreement over a £105m transfer of Declan Rice
  • The midfielder was reportedly in North London for medicals over the weekend
  • Fans are anxious over why the move is yet to be official despite all details agreed upon and medicals passed

The anxious wait by Arsenal fans to see their move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice completed may wait a little longer or lesser, depending on the final details of the deal.

Rice will switch teams across London after both clubs agreed on a £105m transfer deal for the midfielder after the Gunners saw their two previous bids fall below the Hammers' valuation.

He was reportedly at Arsenal's London Colney over the weekend to complete his medicals ahead of becoming the most expensive British player and second in the Premier League behind Enzo Fernandez's move to Chelsea.

What's delaying Rice's transfer?

There were expectations from Arsenal fans that the move would be made official on Friday after the player was spotted at their facilities, but as of this moment, an announcement is yet to be made for him or Jurrien Timber, whom Arsenal have agreed on a fee of £40m with Ajax for.

Sky Sports reports that the East London club are waiting for their opponents' lawyers to approve the final wording of the deal before the two clubs will sign and make it official.

The Athletic adds that the initial agreement was on the fee as the Irons rejected Arsenal's payment structure. They want a guaranteed £100m paid in three instalments, with the rest paid in add-ons.

Mikel Arteta's men are currently camping in Germany, from where they will fly to the United States, where both players are expected to join for their pre-season tour ahead of the English domestic league's curtain raiser, the Community Shield against Manchester City on August 6.

Players who snubbed Man City

Sports Brief analysed eight players who snubbed Pep Guardiola after the Gunners beat City to Rice's signing. City had an offer of £90m rejected and ultimately pulled out of the move.

British broadcaster and former Chelsea Women's star Eniola Aluko claimed Guardiola helped Arteta with the transfer. The Citizens' interest was not genuine, only a ploy to get Arsenal bosses to pay up.
